Jack Berry House in Malton, North Yorkshire, was opened in 2015 by the IJF Patron, HRH The Princess Royal

It is a state-of-the-art rehabilitation and fitness centre for northern based jockeys.

Facilities include:

  • A fully equipped gym for fitness and rehabilitation, and a hydrotherapy pool
  • Four respite rooms which offer ensuite accommodation and shared communal areas with full wheelchair access throughout
  • Education on nutrition, fitness and general lifestyle for young and aspiring jockeys designed to help reduce the risks of serious injury

If you are a currently licensed Jockey who is injured, then services are free of charge subject to availability.

Fees for Gym Membership if uninjured are:

All currently and previously licence holders; Professional, Amateur, P2P, ARO Jockeys:

£150 - 1 year
£100 - 6 months
£80 - 3 months
£30 - 1 month
£15 - per month standing order

Physiotherapy services:

All current Amateur, P2P, ARO Jockeys and retired license holders.

Therafter 30mins £25.00

Scale C:

Racing Industry Staff; Stable Staff, Work Riders, Stalls Handlers, Farriers, Vets, and wider racing community;

£20 - per month standing order

Jack Berry House charges reflect the charitable objectives of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Most services – such as physiotherapy and massage – are free of charge to professional licence holders, including conditional and apprentice jockeys.

There are different fee structures for retired licence holders, stable staff and non racing residents living in the local area (if capacity allows).

The IJF are also a registered treatment provider with BUPA.

Monday to Friday 8.00am-6pm (Gym) although the facilities may be open at earlier and later times for specific classes.
