A key part of the Fund since its commencement in 1964. It was Jack's vision that led to the construction of both Oaksey House and Jack Berry House.
Clare Balding OBE - Vice Patron
Leading TV sports presenter, author and former Champion Amateur rider.
Frankie Dettori, MBE - Vice Patron
Three time flat Champion Jockey and one of the world’s most famous and popular jockeys.
John Francome MBE - Vice Patron
Retired seven times National Hunt Champion jockey. Well-known TV racing presenter and author. Held position as President 2012-2016.
Lady Oaksey - Vice Patron
A tireless fundraiser, supporter of the Fund and almoner for many decades, initially alongside her late husband, the IJF’s founder Lord Oaksey, and in her own right since his death in 2012.
Peter Scudamore MBE - Vice Patron
Retired eight times Champion National Hunt jockey, journalist, broadcaster and assistant trainer. Held the position as a Trustee 1993-2011.
Brough Scott MBE - Chairman
One of the best-known figures in racing. Was a jockey and is an award-winning writer, broadcaster and charity worker. Has been a Trustee of the Fund since 1978 and Chairman since January 2007.
Jonathan Powell - Vice-Chairman
Well-known racing journalist and author. Became a Trustee of the Fund in 2002.
Jeff Smith - Treasurer
A successful racehorse owner & breeder and Chairman of the Aim Group. Became a Trustee in 2004.
Valda Burke BSc
Former Secondary School teacher with a Masters in Neuroscience. Racehorse owner and joint owner of Whitley Stud. Became a Trustee in Feb 2015.
Michael Caulfield MSc
Director and Sport Psychologist at Sporting Edge. Former CEO of the Professional Jockeys Association. Became a Trustee in 2013.
Michael Foy FRCS
Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon. Became a Trustee in 2015.
CEO of Ascot Racecourse and an international business lawyer and partner with the global law firm Allen & Overy for over 30 years. Became a Trustee in 2016.
One of an elite band of NH Jockeys to have ridden over 1000 winners. Became a Trustee in 2016.
William Norris QC
A barrister at Thirty Nine Essex Street, specialising in major personal injury claims, big environmental cases and sports law, both as an advocate and Chairman of disciplinary tribunals. Became a Trustee in 2006.
Chief Executive – Perth Racecourse. Became a Trustee in 2012.
Successful businessman and highly-regarded amateur jockey. Became a Trustee in 2012.
