Raffle raises £1,100 for Injured Jockeys Fund

Raffle raises £1,100 for Injured Jockeys Fund

by IJF |  28 Jan 2019

Sporting Artist Elizabeth Day is pleased to announce  the fund raising  raffle in aid of The Injured Jockeys Fund has raised £1,100.

The winning ticket belonged to Miss Rosie Cockerton, who has won an original portrait of her pony Tommy.

Elizabeth says: “Having worked with point to point horses myself for a few years, and knowing what jockeys have to do in order to stay fit, healthy and mentally strong, I only have great admiration for their dedication and determination to keep going in  a challenging environment. So to be able to raise money through my paintings for these courageous young men and women has been a great honour. I would like to personally thank everyone who so kindly bought raffle tickets.

I would also like to thank Bob Young and his team at Taunton Racecourse.
